Topshop Makeup Review

I recently got my first lot of wages from River Island so of course I had to go shopping instantly (instantly meaning literally minutes after I found out it was in my account) I hadn't treated myself to any beauty products in forever so thought I'd go all out and with the helping hands of the besty, (who is the best/worst person to go shopping with as she encourages me to buy everything) bought lots of pretty new things! So I will be able to do some product reviews at last! First up is two items from the Topshop Makeup range which I have been wanting to try for aggess!

1. Lipstick In 'Whimsical' £8

I usually wear light pink coloured lipstick so thought I'd go for something a little different and went for this orange/coral shade with the cute name 'whimsical'. I'm a sucker for cute packaging and the simple black and white stripes is something different from the normal plain black so that's a plus! The lipstick itself is really soft and creamy and feels really soft on your lips. The colour is really nice, not too bold so can be worn as an every day colour but if you do want a brighter look it can be built up with more layers. So overall, really happy with this and will definitely be purchasing some more in different colours very soon!
2. Blush in 'Head Over Heels' £6

Topshop.com describes this as 'Lightweight cream to powder blush that melts into the skin giving a natural luminous, radiant finish.' I'd say this was a pretty good description. The colour is actually similar to the lipstick I got, this one being called 'Head Over Heels'. Again this is really nice to use and goes on really easily. I find the easiest way to apply it is to dot it on the apples of my cheeks then rub it in. It gives a really soft look and the colour is really cute, different to what I would usually use in a blush but definitely loving this change and for £6 you really can't go wrong with this one!

What I Wore

I really want to try do more of these kind of posts but my social life has been a bit lacking recently due to working lots and all my friends being on holiday so I've been living in my pjs or comfy trackies and generally being a complete bum! Buttt here are some outfits from a couple of nights out with the girls xxx

One of my favourite dresses, a girls wardrobe must have,  the LBD.
Dress: Black Joe Swing from neverfullydressed.com
Shoes: chockersshoes.com
Necklace: Borrowed from a friend but think its from Topshop

My wardrobe got a good night out in bournemouth as two of the other girls wore things of mine too! Ferne on the left wore:
Black Body: Newlook
Cream tutu skirt: Topshop

annndd bakkerr wore:
Mint dipped hem skirt: Zara
Sheer black cami: Topshop

This is really a top but I couldn't resist so wore a little black  dress underneath
Dress/top: Get it at here at River Island
Earrings: River Island (can't really see them but they are little dangle silver crosses)

I bought this bag for Royal Ascot and it's a bit bigger than what I would usually use for a night out but I didn't have anything else that would go and I've had so many compliments on it I thought it deserved a night out. I can't find it online but I know they still have it in store at ZARA.

Nailed it

Now I'm a self confessed nail art freak, painting my nails a different colour almost every other day but I'm not so sure about this particular design. I think this may be just one step too far for me....BUT I have to admit, it is very clever and pretty cool, just not particularly practical...What do you think, too much? Or will you be creating little worlds on your manicures?

Alice Barlett paints a grassy bass onto her nails and then adds tiny little figures to create her own little world at the finger tips...quite literally.

mmm good enough to eat

How incredible is this!? A dress made completely out of gummy bears! It may have taken 50,000 gummy bears, three weeks and a painstaking task of glueing them on by hand but I definitely think it was worth it because this is an amazing tribute to the late Alexander Mcqueen and one of his original pieces. It was created by Hissa Igarashi and Sayuri Marakumi for TWELV magazine's debut issue and it ended up weighing around 220 pounds and took three adults to move it! This is a great example of why I love fashion...because anything is possible! A gummy bear dress, what will they think of next? Does anyone else know of any crazy fashion creations?  xxx

Wannabe Stylist

It feels like forever ago that I finished my first year of uni and although at the time I was over the moon to be getting a break, I'm not really looking forward to heading back and getting back into a routine! I did better than I expected in all my projects getting 2:1's which has now made me want to try even harder when I get back to carry on getting the good grades! I also want to try and get involved with as many other projects as I can handle, especially helping out with styling on shoots as I did a few last year and loved it! This is definitely something that I am really passionate about and I don't think I'm that bad at it either! I have posted a few photos from the shoots that I styled but here's the whole bunch...both of the photographers I worked with were really great, having very different styles so check out the rest of their work too... x
