Round 2: Pretty and Practical

I'm back down at Bournemouth ready for round 2 of Uni life! My new house is soooo nice I love it, and my bedroom is such an improvement on my one last year! Getting your bedroom right is one of the most important parts of moving in I think personally, as this is your own personal space and it needs to feel like home. You need to feel comfortable here and it's your own little space to make your own and show off your personality. Here's what I have done to my room, with some little added tips in between! Hope you like it =) Anyone else moved into a new house and got a new room? Any tips on how to make it look cute and homely? xxx

Bedding: Can make or break a bed! I personally have to have cute and girly bedding to make me bedroom complete! Add a cosy fluffy throw in co-ordinating colours and some teddys from home (yes im 20 and still have teddys, I am not ashamed!) and your ready to go!

Gotta have a few fashion mags to keep me company!

Photos are a must have for me, I have them everywhere in my room, so these are just a few of the fam and friends on my window seal in some cute little pastel coloured polka dot frames I bought last year to match the obvious colour scheme in my bedroom!

The curtains I was provided with in my room were a bit boring, plain brown but I couldn't be bothered to spend money and effort buying new ones, so I decided just to customise these ones by pinning some little butterfly's to them. Anyone who knows me will say this is 'very me'. It's little things like this that make your room personal so think of different things which you can do :) x

Big fan of the fairy lights! My mums pet hate of big lights has rubbed off on me and I much prefer low lighting. Also gives me bedroom a pretty pink glow =)

Practical and pretty! I rarely actually use this mannequin with my work as I use the ones at Uni, but I like to have it in my room, so thought I'd add some cute flower fairy lights to it and have it as an accessory.

We literally have bunting everywhere in our house, were big fans! I've added some little glittery clip on butterflys to mine ! An instant cute and girly addition to any room!

COMPANY Takeover!

I've been meaning to do this post for a while now but I've just moved back down to uni so everything has been a bit hectic, catching up with the girls and making my new room all pretty (i'll post some photos soon!) so I just haven't got round to doing it! BUT a few weeks ago I was grabbing the train home and I really fancied a little read for the journey, I would usually go for Vogue or ELLE but I saw this cute little copy of COMPANY magazine for just a pound, and Fearne Cotton was the cover girl so I couldn't resist! Once I got on the train I realised that the magazine was a special Fashion Graduate Special, where a group of 'fash-grads' has been given total control of this edition of the magazine. Being a fashion student myself, this obviously caught my attention so I dug right in and read it from cover to cover. I absolutely loved the layout and style of the magazine, with the use of mood boards and different fonts! It reminded me a little bit of a working sketchbook and I really liked it! In fact it has given me a lot of inspiration for my own future work, as I was thinking about working a lot more on the computer this year for my sketchbook to create a  different style of sketchbook to what I am used to. Not only was the image of the whole thing great, the content was also really good, I especially loved the interview with Fearne Cotton as I am a hugeee fan! So well done to the Fashion Graduates who took over the magazine, you did a great job if you ask me, I hope this becomes a regular thing as I would definitely buy it again! Has anyone else read the new edition? What did you think!? xxxx

I NEED THESE SHOES IN MY LIFE!!!

Military Brat

I hadn't created an outfit on ASOS Fashion Finder in ages so thought i'd take a couple of minutes to create this quick one the other day as it is an outfit that I am determined to get my hands on for myself! I am loving the military tr at the moment, being drawn to all things khaki. I've seen a few of this style of jackets about and I reallllllyyyyy want one. Luckily River Island has recently bought out this version used in the board below which means EMPLOYEE DISCOUT =D! I'm waiting to get my next pay check then this baby is going to be mine. Every girl needs a new coat for the colder months, don't they? It's a basic human right to be warm....and you might as well look good at the same time? Hope you like the outfit board :) x

Channel your inner brat and break the rules with chunky high boots, smoky eyes and bright lips. Salute your fello fashionistas as you march on by!

What I bought

I've actually been terrible recently with buying new things, I just can't seem to stop. So although my bank account is running very low, I have a lot of new pretty things and I've had a lot of fun purchasing them! I've been really rubbish with my blog recently too as I've been working a lot (and spending money in any spare time I have apparently) so some of these things are from a while ago!

I've been wanting some boots for the colder seasons for a while so when I came across these beauties in TOPSHOP for only £40!!! I really couldn't resist...and they are soooooo soft, I spent a good ten minutes stroking them in the shop before I  gave in.
Get them here.

Again I had been looking for a cross necklace for a while so when I found this cute little gold cross on a suede ribbon in republic I was already pretty swayed, but when I saw that it was only £6 and I could get student discount, it would have physically pained me to leave it behind.
I can't find this one online but I only got it a couple of weeks ago so I'm sure it's still about!

I'd seen a couple of necklace like this about but they were always pretty pricey so I checked ebay and and found this one for just £1.50 with free delivery!! Bargain

Working in retail really does have its perks. One of which being uniform! This is one of the tops I got for FREE to where as uniform to work. I have a little bit of a thing for skulls at the moment so this one was a winner! You can get it here for just £20.

I absolutely loooveeee these cute little dip dyed cross earrings! Really was a nice unexpected surprise to find these for £1 in Matalan.

This was another little treat I found in mataland. I think it's supposed to be a fitted shirt but I bought it a few sizes too big so I could wear it oversized! I love the little leather pocket and strip down the back, and for £8 I couldnt resist.
ps. I've got a few more bits I haven't had a chance to photograph yet as my clothes are all over the place at the moment, half at my mums half at my dads! So I will do another post shortly with more goodies x
