A night at the bus station

I've got a few of the final shots from my night time shoot back and without tooting my own horn, they look pretty great! Was all down to the great team I got to work with, they're all super talented so check out their work! Here we gooo...

The photographer was Richard Tarr, he lit this whole shoot with torches, some pretty clever stuff so take a look at his other work here!

The makeup was done by Miss Chanelle Harrald, one of my best friends and a very talented MUA! Follow her on twitter to see everything she gets up to @Makeup_CC

The beautiful model was Miss Kaily O'Brien, someone I think I'm going to be friends with from a long time to come thanks to this shoot!

The styling was all done by meee, I actually got my bum into gear and set myself out a facebook page and twitter account so please like my page here and follow me at @veejstyle

MaxFactor Review

A couple of months ago I got really fed up with my make up not staying fresh and intact throughout the day. I was using Rimmel Stay Matte foundation and powder and don't get me wrong it was doing the job, but just wasn't 'wowing' me. I don't usually like to spend a lot on make-up (mostly because I'm on a student budget) and I have annoyingly sensitive skin so have to be pretty careful with what I use. I had heard that Max Factor foundation was pretty good so went for the Lasting Performance foundation and Creme Puff Powder.  After using it for the first time I was converted. It was so smooth and easy to apply and had such good coverage. It gave almost an airbrushed effect and I found that I could go all day without feeling the need to reapply which I usually have a terrible habit of. I got multiple compliments on how great my skin looked which was the cherry on top of the cake and I haven't turned back since! There probably is better products out there but on my student budget I think these products are a keeper.

Topshop Makeup Review

I recently got my first lot of wages from River Island so of course I had to go shopping instantly (instantly meaning literally minutes after I found out it was in my account) I hadn't treated myself to any beauty products in forever so thought I'd go all out and with the helping hands of the besty, (who is the best/worst person to go shopping with as she encourages me to buy everything) bought lots of pretty new things! So I will be able to do some product reviews at last! First up is two items from the Topshop Makeup range which I have been wanting to try for aggess!

1. Lipstick In 'Whimsical' £8

I usually wear light pink coloured lipstick so thought I'd go for something a little different and went for this orange/coral shade with the cute name 'whimsical'. I'm a sucker for cute packaging and the simple black and white stripes is something different from the normal plain black so that's a plus! The lipstick itself is really soft and creamy and feels really soft on your lips. The colour is really nice, not too bold so can be worn as an every day colour but if you do want a brighter look it can be built up with more layers. So overall, really happy with this and will definitely be purchasing some more in different colours very soon!
2. Blush in 'Head Over Heels' £6

Topshop.com describes this as 'Lightweight cream to powder blush that melts into the skin giving a natural luminous, radiant finish.' I'd say this was a pretty good description. The colour is actually similar to the lipstick I got, this one being called 'Head Over Heels'. Again this is really nice to use and goes on really easily. I find the easiest way to apply it is to dot it on the apples of my cheeks then rub it in. It gives a really soft look and the colour is really cute, different to what I would usually use in a blush but definitely loving this change and for £6 you really can't go wrong with this one!

Feeling Blue

I went through a phase of being a little bit obsessed with the pastel trend, don't get me wrong I still love it and my wardrobe is still crammed with candy shades but I have a new colour crush this week...BLUE! Earlier on in the year I fell in love with a pair of cobalt blue ankle strap wedges in TOPSHOP. Unfortunately they had a price tag as high as the wedge so I had to get over that crush quickly. But then a little birdy informed me of a near exact copy being sold in NewLook for over half the price!! (Thankyou to that little bird by the way, fellow  blogger and my bff Laura Baker, check our her beauty blog) So of course, despite my serious lack of funds I went straight online and ordered myself a pair of these beauties. And they did not dissapoint! Not only are they an incredible colour and shape they are super comfy which is always a bonus that I do not expect with high shoes! However now I had the dilemma of what to pair them with, so of course I had to go out shopping to see what I could find didn't I!? And this is what I came home with! I decided to team the outfit with contrasting bright pink lipstick and nail varnish as my only accessories!
(I also completely forgot that I had a H&M floral Print dress crammed away in my wardrobe in the exact right shade so I was able to create another outfit around my new shoesies, paired with an oversized dark denim shirt)
