GFW

Yesterday me and my friend took a bit of a last minute trip to the great city of London to visit Graduate Fashion Week! We hadn't managed to buy tickets online so were a bit apprehensive about whether or not we were going to get in, but luckily they were still selling tickets on the door so we were in! We first got to look around the exhibition which showed off all the work of the graduates, giving me the opportunity to flick through some portfolios and see the finished pieces which inspires me a lot to in a few years have my own work on show. There was universities from all over the country, even my own AUCB was there! We then got to see the Catwalk Show of Bath Spa and Wiltshire College Salisbury. The collections were ammazzinng, with a lot of bright colours and prints to minimalist colours. A lot of the collections were really made by the accessories that they came down the Catwalk with. To bright floral headpieces to piñata rucksacks, they made the pieces really stand out. I hadn't seen a catwalk in a while and I had forgotten how much I loved them! They make me remember why I love Fashion and in particular design. Watching one that shows the work of graduates which is essentially my future makes me really inspired and determined to work my hardest to one day be sitting in that audience with people clapping for my work going down the catwalk! xxx

Another exhibition piece, a menswear super chunky knit piece. As a huge fan of knit I loveeed this, just wanted to put it on and get cosy!

This piece was so feminine and pretty. The heavily beaded sleeves were incredible!

Structural Dress on display, the shape of this dress was so cool, created by wood edging! 

This collection was very ghostly, with sheer hoods and monotone shades, very effective.

Rubbish photo but this collection was very childlike and colourful, with  backpacks to match in the shape of pinatas and crayon boxes! 

This was probably my favourite collection of the show. The print was amazing, with city skylines in deep blues and mauve. 

This was another favourite, reminded me a lot of Viktor and Rolf, lots of oversized ruffles and structured shapes! The outfits were given that extra twist with creepy japanese style masks worn by all the models. 

What I Bought

Even though I'm ridiculously poor at the moment I cannot contain my 'shopping problem'. In a couple of weeks me and my friends are going to Royal Ascot so I took a trip to Oxford Circus to look for a dress. After trying on about 100000 dresses I decided that I'm just not a dress kinda gal and found a beaauuutt skirt by Rare in TOPSHOP and just had to buy it! I'm loving the dip dye trend at the moment so this skirt is perfect for me, and in this girly shade of pink it's sooo me! Now it's just finding something to go with it!?  Sticking with my pink theme, I saw these little pumps and couldn't resist them!

All the pinkness inspired me to match my nails! 

Doodle Doodle

So I was planning on heading out to look for a dress to wear to Ascot today, but when I looked outside and saw that it was pouring I decided to be a hermit instead, running downstairs to the shopping centre conveniently underneath my dads flat and grabbing myself a sketchbook, some colouring pencil and some paints! I spent the entire day chilling in doors doing some drawing. I forgot how much it chilled me out as I haven't actually picked up a pencil since I was stressing out over my final uni project. So here's what I got up to today :) xx

Feeling Blue

I went through a phase of being a little bit obsessed with the pastel trend, don't get me wrong I still love it and my wardrobe is still crammed with candy shades but I have a new colour crush this week...BLUE! Earlier on in the year I fell in love with a pair of cobalt blue ankle strap wedges in TOPSHOP. Unfortunately they had a price tag as high as the wedge so I had to get over that crush quickly. But then a little birdy informed me of a near exact copy being sold in NewLook for over half the price!! (Thankyou to that little bird by the way, fellow  blogger and my bff Laura Baker, check our her beauty blog) So of course, despite my serious lack of funds I went straight online and ordered myself a pair of these beauties. And they did not dissapoint! Not only are they an incredible colour and shape they are super comfy which is always a bonus that I do not expect with high shoes! However now I had the dilemma of what to pair them with, so of course I had to go out shopping to see what I could find didn't I!? And this is what I came home with! I decided to team the outfit with contrasting bright pink lipstick and nail varnish as my only accessories!

(I also completely forgot that I had a H&M floral Print dress crammed away in my wardrobe in the exact right shade so I was able to create another outfit around my new shoesies, paired with an oversized dark denim shirt)

tie dye love

So i've got a bit of a new obsession. My last one was for the pastel trend and I've recently discovered i'm a bit of a secret rock chick and and am loving the studs that are everywhere at the moment. So when the two are mixed together and the word 'vintage' is added i'm a sucker! I've recently come across the brand The Ragged Priest and their stuff is incrediiibblllee! Their clothes are starting to clog up my Pinterest wish list! I am particularly lusting after a pair of the vintage tie dye Levi shorts and the oversized denim shirts, think I may have to treat myself this week for working so hard for 6 weeks on my internship....I think that's acceptable, don't you? xxx

Blooming Marvellous!

I'm not sure how I haven't come across these before, but now I have I am absolutely adamant that I am going to get my hands on one! As a self confessed fashion and photography lover, this brand has put two of my loves together to create a beautiful thing. Bloom Theory was created by two girls, the founders of Simply Bloom Photography (seriously recommend taking a look at their website too, their work is stunning!) who decided to make photography  just that bit more special by making your camera a unique and stylish accessory! My personal favourites are the 'Ballet by Degas' and the 'Petite Cherie' My little camera definitely needs one of these attached to it.

If I ever manage to get my hands on the funds to be able to get myself of these I will be sure to let you know! What are your favourites?
